Attestation of Power of Attorney Documents
The applicant should be a Sri Lankan citizen or a dual citizen.
The applicant should produce his/her valid Sri Lankan passport, the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) document (Please visit https://www.border.gov.au/Busi/visas-and-migration/visa-entitlement-verification-online-(vevo) ) to confirm visa status at the time of attestation.
If the applicant is a dual citizen, dual citizenship certificate should be produced with Sri Lankan or foreign passport.
Applicants do not require to bring witnesses to witness their signatures. Officials of the Consulate General will sign the document as witnesses.
The payment for attestation of a Power of Attorney is AUS $ 65/-. Payment has to be made in cash only.
Applicants should have clear instructions from their lawyers in Sri Lanka on number of copies required as each document is charged separately. For example, if an applicant require two copies the payment will be AUS $ 130/-.
