your hands or sanitize them using a proper sanitizer to ensure the safety of yourself
and our staff. Please maintain the social distancing while inside the Consulate General premises.
In order to provide you an optimum service we have introduced an online
appointment system. Please obtain an appointment through this website prior to
visiting us. Please note that walk-in services are no longer available.
Debit card payments:
Now you do not have to carry cash for payments at our counter. You can pay by debit cards.
Same day issuance of birth certificates:
Now you can obtain the birth certificate of your baby same day at our counter, if
your baby is less than one year old.
New Procedure to enter into Sri Lanka:
The following categories of passengers will be permitted to enter into Sri Lanka without prior approval once the airports are reopened.
1 Sri Lankan passport holders
2 Dual citizens
3 Foreign passport holding spouses of Sri Lankan passport holders
4 Foreign passport holding unmarried children of Sri Lankan passport holders
5 Sri Lankan seafarers arriving by air
If you are a Foreign Passport holder:
You are required to obtain a prior visa. Please visit Sri Lanka Tourism “Hello Again Sri Lanka” Travel Guidelines https://www.srilanka.travel/helloagain/ and www.eta.gov.lk for further information. No “visa on arrival” will be issued. For visa related issues, the travellers may contact the Department of Immigration & Emigration through the following:
